With reference to your letter of the 1st July, 1940, No.53889/39., I am commanded by the Air Council to acquaint you, for the information of Lord Lloyd, that it is not possible to nominate in advance a replacement for Flight Lieutenant R. L.Loss, Superintendant of the Hong Kong Aerodrome, in the event of his falling sick, but that the matter should be one for arrangement between the Governor of Hong Kong and the Air Officer Commanding, Far East Command.
